It’s time to plant these little seedlings out in the big garden. So, they are spending a couple of nights out of the hot house cabinet and on top of the work bench before they join the rest of the vegetable patch.
This is called “hardening” and gives them a fighting chance in adapting to their new environment and the outdoor elements. A few weeks ago, I pricked them out of their seedling mix and re-potted them with enriched soil from the vegetable patch. This way, they only have to deal with one major change at a time.
Now, I am left with the challenge of finding space for them all! Note to self: create a succession planting plan.
